Mexican cartels playing a part in migrant crossings

EL PASO, Texas — A southern New Mexico nonprofit organization says Mexican cartels are playing a part in migrants crossing the border.
Ken Ferrone is the executive director of Catholic Charities of southern New Mexico. The only nonprofit in the southern portion of the state to handle asylum casework and defense of deportation.
"We provide free or low-cost legal services to these individuals, and we interpret the immigration law and provide them with advice and counsel. Some of them are eligible for asylum and for adjustment of status. And unfortunately, some of them are not, said Ferrone.
Ferrone says they're seeing migrants who are being targeted by the cartels....
